SEATTLE (AP) — A North Cascades National Park spokeswoman says a search helicopter on Friday afternoon spotted the body of John Arum, an experienced mountain climber who had been the object of a five-day search.

Spokeswoman Kerry Olson says the body was spotted at about the 7,700-foot level of Storm King mountain, an 8,815-foot peak that the 49-year-old Seattle environmental attorney had planned to climb. Arum was the son of boxing promoter Bob Arum.

Olson says it wasn't immediately possible to retrieve the body but it was clear to searchers in the helicopter that Arum was dead. She says those involved in the search say he likely died in a fall.
