KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho-- More than 100 dogs were en route to north Idaho Wednesday to be featured in the PBS television show, “Shelter Me.”

Five days of filming for the show’s fourth episode were scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 22, featuring Kootenai Animal Shelter. Production crews were scheduled to arrive on Friday and begin interviewing community leaders.

Film crews also planned to feature the Panhandle Animal Shelter on Sunday.

The Wings of Rescue agreed to fly in dogs rescued from kill shelters in California for the show.

More than 100 community members volunteered to help unload the dogs and parade them around the Coeur d’Alene airport upon their arrival.
