SPOKANE -- Projects paid for by the City of Spokane’s ten year street bond, are ahead of schedule and on -- or under -- budget.
City street crews will finish up in 2014, a year early.
In the next several months, crews will take on three major projects: Francis will get a curb to curb replacement from division to Haven; the City will finish work on 29th Avenue from Bernard to High Drive on the South Hill;and Third will see improvements from Division to Arthur.
The major projects are scheduled to start in April and finish at the end of summer or early fall.
Max Powell, who owns an animal specialty store along Francis Avenue, said he is eager to see the difference the project will make but is not looking forward to the challenge of keeping customers during the construction.
