SPOKANE-- It’s been just over a week since two Spokane County deputies were shot in the line of duty. Now a local organization is asking the community to show its support by donating blood.

Charles Wallace shot Deputy Matt Spink once in the leg. Deputy Spink was released from the hospital over the weekend.

Deputy Michael Northway was shot in both arms and one leg. He remains in the hospital, but he’s now able to walk around.

The Inland Northwest Blood Center is holding a community blood drive to honor both deputies. Anyone who wishes to donate can visit the blood center on West Cataldo between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
