SPRINGDALE, Wash.-- The Mary Walker School District will be on a two hour late start Monday to allow maintenance staff to ensure the district’s water is potable and safe.
City leaders issued a boil order for people in Springdale on Friday afternoon. Construction workers broke a water main according to Springdale leaders who warned against possible contamination.
The water main and sewer main break shut down schools early Friday afternoon.
The town has lifted the water boiling ban, but wants to allow the district’s maintenance staff enough time to make sure the water is safe for use.
All staff members are required to be at work regular hours on Monday but with the two hour delay, students will start school at 10:20 a.m.
