SPOKANE -- While swine flu runs rampant through the Inland Northwest, Sacred Heart Medical Center and Holy Family Hospital will be further restricting visitors.

Starting November 2, children under 18 years of age will not be allowed into any patient care areas. Also, all adult visitors must be immediate family members, and are required to check in at a nurses' station. Furthermore, anyone with respiratory symptoms are not allowed into any patient care areas.

Hospital officials say these precautions are both to protect patients and staff from the flu.

Exceptions may be considered for certain individuals.

I hope people in the community understand where the hospital is coming from... The hospital is a breeding ground of flu and other illnesses; people who bring their children there has always bothered me. Special execptions is when immenent death is going to happen and you need to say goodbye; otherwise please respect the policy and dont come up if you are not immediate family and please dont bring your children!
