New research shows there may be a better way to clean a baby's pacifier.
The research said a mother's mouth may be the best way to clean a pacifier. The Journal of Pediatrics said the bacteria in a mother's mouth can have healthy benefits.
The study looked at 184 children. Children whose parents sucked on their pacifiers to clean them had a lower risk of developing both eczema and asthma.
Doctors do recommend washing the pacifier oon the top rack othe dishwasher or with hot water and soap.
