LIBERTY LAKE-- A Liberty Lake man accidentally severed part of his finger tip at work and a relatively new medical procedure is helping him literally grow it back.

The patient says not many people have heard about this treatment and people are always amazed when he tells them.

About a month ago Eric Moberg says he slipped at work and got his pointer finger pinched inside a wood laminating machine.

KREM 2 News has blurred a lot of the photos he showed us because they are so graphic.

Moberg lost most of the tip of his finger except the bone and fingernail.

He went to Rockwood Plastic Surgery Center in Spokane.  His doctor introduced to a treatment that blew Moberg's mind.

Every other day Moberg applies a regenerative medicine developed by a-cell incorporated.

It regenerates human tissue using pig bladder ground up into dust.

Moberg expects the medicine will re-grow 98% of what he lost.

When KREM2 talked to Moberg in February he was in so much pain that he could barely use his right hand.  He says that now his life is slowly getting back to normal, now that his finger has almost healed.

He says most of his finger pad has grown back and the pain has virtually gone away.  He says he will return to work on Monday.

The doctors have told Moberg his finger should be full healed in about three weeks.
