SPOKANE-- The first shipment of the H1N1 vaccine has arrived at Gonzaga University.
The university is planning to hand out the vaccine to a select few Tuesday.
There are only 50 doses, and most of them are already going to certain people.
The clinic has been in place since mid-October, but the University had to delay the vaccine clinic because of the nationwide shortage.
Companies couldn’t make enough of the vaccine fast enough. Now months after school started, students are still waiting for their shot.
Tuesday’s clinic is reservation only, and it is not for everyone. Only pregnant women and caregivers of kids under the age of six months can receive the vaccine.
That will take care of the 50 available doses quickly.
Gonzaga is hoping for more doses of the vaccine before the holidays. Right now there is no guarantee that will happen.
