(CBS) - A 14-year study found fast food restaurants have modestly improved the Nutritional quality of their food. Researchers in Minnesota analyzed data from menus of eight restaurants including McDonald's, Burger King and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Based on the healthy eating index the overall quality improved by two points. KFC saw the most improvement with a 9 point increase. Researchers say more than 25% of American adults eat fast food two or more times a week.
High fat and high salt foods can lead to diet-related chronic diseases.
