A company plans to use 3D printing technology to generate plastic models of unborn babies for expectant parents, according to a newspaper report.

Metro of London, U.K. reported Monday that Gerard and Katie Bessette hope to crowd fund a company, 3-D Babies, that will use 3D ultrasound scans to generate "adorable figurines" that resemble the facial features and body position of an unborn child.

According to Metro, the couple said:

‘We use your 3D/4D ultrasound images or newborn baby pictures to create a unique artistic representation of your baby using the latest computer graphics and 3D printing technology.’

Touted as a ‘treasured family remembrance of your pregnancy’, 3D Babies says its models are a ‘great way to share the excitement of your new baby’.

Prices range from $200 to $400, the report says.
