SPOKANE, Wash.--Volunteers began renovating part of SpokAnimal on Tuesday thanks to a donation by Purina Cat Chow. The pet food company donated $30,000 to help the Spokane shelter upgrade Kitty City.
The renovation will feature improvements to its “Kitty City” space, lobby and adoption counseling rooms according to SpokAnimal employees. Purina Cat Chow also sent a team of 15 volunteers to help with the renovation. The Kitty City facility at SpokAnimal houses the shelter’s cat services and adoption counseling areas.
The shelter renovation came as part of the “Purina Cat Chow 50 Years 50 Shelters” program. The program donated money to 50 cat-focused shelters nationwide, one in every state. Purina donated a total of $200,000.
