COEUR D'ALENE -- Last year, a private organization called Fresh Start opened up Coeur d'Alene's first ever warming center. They have moved locations they say is for the best.
Warm clothing is not the only thing the homeless in Coeur d'Alene will be able to get their hands on. They can also get a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, warm blanket and a place from the cold. The warming center is open whenever the temperature is 15-degrees or colder.
Fresh Start averaged 27 people a night. 810 overall. This year, Fresh Start moved into a more spacious building at 1524 East Sherman. And that's right on a bus route. The warming center can hold twice as many people.
Fresh Start relies on private donations to keep them running. They are always in need of sleeping bags, warm gloves and tents. Anything, they say, to help out the homeless.
