SPOKANE -- Spokane Public Schools uses an online tool to help educators coordinate with police and fire officials during emergencies at schools.
Authorities are equipped with the Rapid Responder Program in their vehicles. If there is any kind of emergency, from a gas leak to a lock down, officials have the information they need before anyone gets on scene.
The software includes the floor plans and interior and exterior images of each school. It also includes the District’s emergency plan for each school so police and fire personnel can read up before they arrive on scene.
Businesses like the Davenport Hotel and the INB Performing Arts Center in downtown Spokane also use the software.
