SPOKANE – Authorities continued their search for a man they suspect shot at an ISP trooper Saturday morning.

Mitchell Lee Walck is considered armed and dangerous.

Officers tried to pull over Walck for a traffic violation near Highway 53 and N. McCartney Street in Rathdrum, Idaho early Saturday morning. Police said Walck fled from officers, ditched his vehicle and ran up Rathdrum Mountain to escape. Authorities said Walck fired a round at them when officers tried to stop him.

According to a law enforcement bulletin, Walck is believed to be a Montana Sovereign Citizen with ties to the Aryan Nations.

Walck is described as 5’10”, 170 lbs, with brown and/or graying hair.

Corrections records show Walck was convicted of assaulting a Peace Officer in 2002. He also is wanted on a felony probation violation.

KXGN reports Walck was spotted near Glendive, MT around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911.
