MOSES LAKE, Wash. -- Several schools, day care centers, and a health clinic were put into lockdown early Wednesday while authorities arrested a beating suspect living nearby.
Police said a 23-year-old man was taken into custody without any problem from a home in the 800 block of Grand Drive in Moses Lake around 8:15 a.m.
After the arrest, the nearby schools and business lifted their lockdown orders.
The man is one of three people arrested on suspicion of severely beating a Moses Lake man early Wednesday morning.
The victim told investigators two men and a teenager assaulted him and then loaded him into a car and drove him to the Moses Lake Sand Dunes. The victim was able to escape and find help at a nearby home. He was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital.
An 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were arrested around 10:00 a.m. in a neighborhood in the 800 block of Evelyn Drive in Moses Lake. Their names are being withheld pending the filing of criminal charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
