PULLMAN, Wash. – A new hotel project on the Washington State University Pullman campus will include a 2,000 square foot conference space, the WSU Board of Regents was told in an update at its regular meeting Friday.
The developer behind the project, Stonebridge Companies of Englewood, Colo., has funding in place for a 130-room hotel designed to accommodate longer term and short stay housing. The facility will be operated by the Marriott Corporation.
The company initially will lease 3 acres of a 7.5-acre site previously designated for hospitality development by the university. Options would allow the company to acquire and further develop the balance of the property during the first 10 years of the lease.
Crews will break ground in October; construction could be completed as early as fall 2013.
