NEWPORT, Wash. -- Pend Oreille County Deputies arrested an elderly woman for allegedly shooting her own nephew Wednesday.
Deputies responded to a home on Sunnyside Drive in an area about six miles north of Newport, Wash. following reports that a man had been shot.
Deputies said 74-year-old Nelda J. Treadwell of Newport shot 43-year-old Tory J. Duty following an argument over a vehicle.
Duty was taken by ambulance to Newport Community Hospital and later flown to a Spokane hospital for surgery.
Treadwell was arrested and charged with 1st degree Assault/Domestic Violence.
