Man who robbed Wells Fargo bank last year pleaded guilty to armed robbery

SPOKANE, Wash --- The suspect in the Wells Fargo Bank robbery back in April 2016 has pleaded guilty to armed bank robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.

Don Owens is accused of shooting a customer who tried to stop him from robbing the Wells Fargo on North Division. The victim survived his injuries. 

Owens appeared before the court on Thursday and entered his guilty plea, according to court documents. Owens accepted a plea deal that recommends he be imprisoned for 144 to 216 months.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 29 in Spokane, said court documents.
