SPOKANE—Downtown Spokane’s Riverfront Park is a huge draw in the summer, but police said its drawing vandals, as well.
A long-time park employee described it as the worst summer ever for the problem.
Maintenance crews at the park said they are dealing with everything from torn up flowers to graffiti. They’ve found some form of vandalism everyday which takes up nearly one third of the labor at the park.
The exact cost for all the repairs during the summer is not known yet, but official estimate it will be upwards of $20,000.
