SPOKANE--Police arrested a woman Thursday night after she allegedly robbed a hair salon and then led authorities on a high speed chase.

The incident started at Great Clips on Grand Boulevard on Spokane's South Hill.  A woman walked into the hair salon around 8:15, robbed it and took off with some cash.

Police say the suspect, 37-year-old Melissa Tschanz, then jumped into a car and sped off, but someone got the license plate number.

A little while later, further down the hill on 10th and Adams, a police officer pulled her over.  She gave him her driver’s license and then drove off.

The officer chased her down the hill and onto Interstate 90.  It ended when officers stopped her car near the airport exit.

Now Tschanz is facing second-degree robbery and eluding charges.
