DEER PARK, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol's Auto Theft Unit recovered six stolen cars and a stolen motorcycle earlier this week. Friday, it found even more.
Authorities were first tipped off to stolen vehicles at the property on Arlington Road near Deer Park Wednesday, when the renter was evicted. Investigators first found six stolen cars and a stolen motorcycle. They’ve now recovered more than two dozen guitars, several flat screen TVs and car parts.
WSP suspects it’s all stolen, and neighbors say they’ve always found the renter, who police have not yet named, suspicious.
“They have cars coming in at all hours of the night, from 1 to 4 [a.m.]. They have multiple people driving cars in. He’d drive out with someone in the car, and drive the cars back,” neighbor Justin Wall said.
The suspect didn’t rent the house for long, according to Wall.
“They’d take the panels off the cars sometimes, and I’d notice when I walk out to the backyard. He’d look at me, and then walk around the cars so I wouldn’t see him.
The homeowner hauled a truckload of his tenant’s stuff to a storage unit in Clayton during the eviction process. Friday, investigators combed through the unit, which was packed full with goods. Now it’s a waiting game as troopers try to prove they were stolen.
WSP has yet to arrest anyone in this case.
Anyone who recognizes the property shown in the video above should contact WSP. The recovered cars have already been returned to their owners.
