SPOKANE VALLEY--Deputies were forced to tase a car prowling suspect during an arrest early Friday morning.
Deputies were called to a convenience store at 2122 N. Pines Rd. around 5 a.m. When they arrived they saw a man, later identified as 27-year-old Kurt Lamarr, who matched the description of a person prowling vehicles in the parking lot.
When deputies tried to contact Lamarr he placed his hand in his pocket and started walking away. Deputies ordered Lamarr to stop. He ignored them and began reaching in his waistband.
While attempting to detain Lamarr, deputies saw he had a knife on him and tased him.
Lamarr was eventually put in handcuffs. A knife and a baggie of methamphetamine were found in his pocket.
Lamarr was booked into Spokane County Jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance, obstructing and resisting arrest.
