SPOKANE -- A popular Downtown Spokane restaurant is facing another hurdle after thieves broke in late Thursday night.  The owner of the Sante Restaurant closed the place down briefly Friday because vandals ransacked the place.

The vandals ripped the till from the counter.  They didn't take much, just a few hundred dollars.  But it is what they left behind that hurts the owners.  The thieves broke a computer system.  That means employees now have to write tickets the old fashioned way.

Owner Jeremy Hansen said briefly closing the business cost him a few thousand dollars in lost revenue.  The business is back open Friday night for dinner until about 10pm.

This is not the first setback for the blossoming business.  Just a year ago, a grease fire damaged the kitchen.  The staff could not serve hot food for weeks.  But just like the fire, Hansen said they will recover.
