OTHELLO, Wash. - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Francisco A. Rizo, 31, in Connell in connection with the deaths of two men found shot in an orchard in Othello.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1700 block of West Bench Road Wednesday, and found two people dead in a nearby orchard from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.  Authorities said the victims were Juan Luis Rizo-Torres, 39, and Ruben Gonzalez-Navarrete, 29.

Investigators think the shooting took place Tuesday between 5pm and 10pm.  They say the original incident was a verbal and physical confrontation between the victims and another orchard worker. The suspect Rizo found out about the altercation and went to the orchard. Rizo confronted the two victims and shot both with a small caliber handgun. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has not recovered the handgun.

Rizo was booked into the Adams County Jail on two possible counts of Murder in the First Degree.
