BENEWAH COUNTY-- Two men attempted to escape from Benewah County Jail Wednesday night by removing materials from a wall of a general population cell.

Officers believe Timothy Allen and Jodie Miller were allegedly trying to escape from the jail but were caught Thursday morning.

We're told they were seen trying to remove material from a wall in a general population cell. Officials say they had removed plaster away from the wall.

Officials tell us they were in no way close to escaping and only damaged the wall.

Officials say this is the same cell that Jessie Wilkinson escaped from at least once last year. He successful escaped twice from the jail.

Jodie Miller has been moved to a maximum security jail cell. Miller just pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder in a Plummer stabbing that occurred last year.

Timothy Allen has been moved Shoshone County. Allen was originally in jail for burglarizing a liquor store in St Maries. He was back in for probation violation from the 2010 conviction.

Both could face attempted escape charges which carries an additional 2 1/2 year sentence.
Officials say that there were other inmates in the cell but they were not involved.
