COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho-- Police arrested one man for trying to rob a hotel Wednesday afternoon. Officers spent the afternoon looking for two men who held up the Ameritel Inn.
Officers caught Christopher Huckaby, 39, around 4 p.m. Employees told police that two suspects entered the hotel at 333 W. Ironwood Dr around 1 p.m. The men implied that they had a gun and demanded cash from the front desk clerk.
Police arrived shortly after the holdup but both men were gone. Employees said the suspects ran eastbound out of the Ameritel Inn. The suspects were last seen near Mountain West Bank parking lot at Government Way.
Ameritel Inn employees described both suspects as Hispanic men between 40 and 50-years-old. A tip led police to Huckaby. Authorities said he is accused of attempted robbery.
