SPOKANE, Wash.-- Investigators Wednesday confirmed the identity of the second victim in a mobile home fire Monday morning.

Police announced Tuesday that the fire uncovered a murder-suicide.

The second person whose body was found was identified as Robert "Amanda" Blanchard, 41.  Blanchard's body was found along with that of Keith Barber.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office said Barber and Blanchard died in the fire, although the flames may not have been what killed them.  Detectives believe the gun found next to one of the victims was involved.

Investigators have not identified which of the two individuals was the victim and which was the homicide suspect.

Firefighters arrived at the home along the 2300 block of W. 16th Monday morning around 12:15. Flames destroyed the mobile home. When investigators went inside, they found the two bodies inside the rubble.

The President of the mobile home park named the victims in a letter sent to Cascade Association members on Tuesday. The letter reads:

“Monday morning, shortly after midnight, Keith Barber & Amanda Blanchard’s home caught fire and was destroyed. Amanda and Keith both apparently perished in the blaze (there has not been a positive identification at this point).”

Authorities initially said their were investigating the fire as a homicide. On Tuesday, authorities revised the statement and said the deaths were part of a murder-suicide. Detectives said that they believe the homicide suspect set the mobile home on fire before committing suicide. However, authorities did not name the killer. A gun was found during the investigation according to police.

Neighbors said the two were engaged and lived together in the home. They say the couple was planning to get married Thursday.

Officials added they have not been able to locate a next of kin for Amanda Blanchard, 41. Anyone with information about Blanchard's family is asked to contact the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
