Grouse hunting ends in deadly shooting, two people arrested

OKANOGAN COUNTY--The Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife arrested two people in connection with the murder of Michael R. Carrigan. Authorities identified the suspects on Tuesday.

Carrigan, 52, was shot around 7:15 p.m. on September 2, 2013 on Pontiac Ridge out of Chesaw according to officials. Two people were in the area grouse hunting and one of the men got out of their car to shoot at a grouse according to officials.

The passenger in the car said he heard a shot and saw his partner with blood on him and then saw him fall to the ground.

Adam Shaun Jennings, 27, and John Wayne Jennings, 57, were arrested in connection to the shooting. The arrests were made approximately six miles from the town of Chesaw. Law enforcement officials were still on scene on the Jennings’ property executing a search warrant on Tuesday.
