SPOKANE— A suspected drunk driver slammed into several cars and a boat early Monday before police were able to catch up with him.
Spokane Police officers said the man was speeding his Mercedes around 3 a.m. near Maple and Wellesley when he hit the first car. They said the man hit the gas and took off from that wreck.
The driver made it to Cedar and Central before hitting a parked car with a boat trailer attached to it. Investigators said the force of the wreck hurled the boat 75 feet. Meanwhile, the driver got out of the car and took off on foot.
But police caught up with the man a short distance away at Francis and Adams and arrested him. Authorities said medics treated him for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
