SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police nabbed a criminal with a history of drug and burglary charges following a chase through Downtown Spokane.

An officer says Trevor R. McClure, 21, looked suspicious when he rode into a downtown parking garage on his bike around 9:15 a.m. Thursday. The officer followed him in and found the suspect hiding between two cars.

McClure allegedly took off and ran into a building in the 900 block of South Washington. Police went in to ensure the safety of everyone inside. McClure managed to escape out of one of the exits shortly after, dropping his backpack and coat as he fled.

Police caught up with McClure and arrested him. He faces second-degree burglary and possession of methamphetamine charges.

The Spokane Police Department calls McClure a prolific criminal. Officers say he’s behind other burglaries and car prowling incidents. His criminal history includes theft, trespassing and burglary.

McClure did not break into any of the cars in the parking garage before running away.
