SPOKANE – Police made at arrest Friday in a May 31st home invasion in the 1600 block of West Spofford.

Spokane Police arrested David F. Smith, 40, for 1st Degree Armed Robbery.  Police say Smith was with a second man who was also armed with a handgun during that break-in.

The Spokane Police Department’s Patrol Anti Crime Team worked in collaboration with Major Crimes Detectives and the US Marshals NW Violent Offenders Task Force to develop information in the case.  PACT team members located Smith at an apartment complex in the 800 block of West Cora and took him into custody without incident.

The second suspect is still wanted.

Police are investigating several other home invasion robberies that could be related to these two suspects.

Spokane Police say victims are often reluctant to report these crimes because they can be drug related.  Home invasion robberies are violent and involve suspects with weapons in most cases.  Spokane Police take these crimes seriously and urge anyone with information to call Crime Check at 456-2233 regardless of their own involvement in criminal activity.
