SPOKANE, Wash. -- A judge set bail Wednesday at $500,000 for a man accused of molesting a child.

Charles Arthur Fletcher, 60, faced a Spokane judge Wednesday after being extradited back to the Northwest from the Republic of Georgia.

Fletcher was brought back to the U.S. on Monday on felony charges according to authorities. An international partnership between the FBI Attaché in Tbilisi along with several other organizations worked together to arrest Fletcher. He was arrested in the Georgia capital without incident according to authorities.

The Spokane Police Department said they investigated a number of crimes Fletcher is alleged to have committed in Spokane and obtained a warrant in June 2012. The warrant included charges of First Degree Child Molestation and one count of Second Degree Child Molestation. Officials said Fletcher was charged federally in July 2012 for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in the United States.

Spokane Police said that they and the FBI were able to seek extradition of Fletcher back to the U.S. He arrived in Spokane on Monday afternoon with an FBI and Spokane Police escort. The extradition did not cost the Spokane Police Department any money.

A Spokane County prosecutor said that their office would not have been able to pursue prosecution without the help of every single agency involved. Fletcher will appear in Spokane County Superior Court for the first time on July 17, 2013.
