SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police say they are investigating a shooting near Rogers High School.

Officials say the shooting happened on the 2100 block of E. Heroy Ave around 10:30 Tuesday morning and a suspect was arrested a short time later.

Authorities say that two men were fighting outside the home on Heroy. The suspect then forced his way into the house and a hand gun was displayed. Police believe the suspect shot the man who lived in home one time.

The man appears to have non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. He has since been released.

Officers say the dispute may have been over a scooter.

One lane of Crestline has been blocked off as investigators are working to secure a search warrant for the home. Officials said the area was reopened about an hour later.

Authorities say the suspect, Jesse Adams, 29, was picked up soon after at Magnesium and Mayfair. He is charged with 1st Degree Burglary and 1st Degree Assault.

Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives also served a search warrant for the Adams's vehicle, in order to gather evidence related to the incident.
