PULLMAN-- Police responded to a shots fired call on the WSU campus Thursday according to an alert sent out from the university.
Police have responded and are investigating a report of a shot fired in the 1300/1400 blocks of Olympia Avenue SE according to officials.
WSU's public information official said a car window and possibly a campus building was shot at. Investigating officers reported it appeared the weapon involved in the incident was a pellet gun.
There have been no reported injuries.
The university issued an emergency alert to students, faculty and staff shortly before 2 p.m., warning them to avoid the area or shelter in place. The warning was lifted approximately 15 minutes later.
A Child Care Center near the scene took appropriate precautions according to a alert from WSU.
Police on scene requested any individuals stay indoors and/or avoid the area. They requested people exercise appropriate personal security precautions.
No suspects were apprehended. The investigation is continuing.
