PULLMAN, Wash. -- Investigators in Pullman believe they are close to identifying the person who assaulted a Washington State University Professor.

Officials say they believe many students remain unaware this attack happened a week before last. They hope once more people know someone will provide the key tip they need.

Pullman Police say Professor David Warner left a bar two weeks ago and surveillance photos show he was trying to break up a fight when somebody punched him and knocked him unconscious.

Commander Chris Tennant says some witnesses appeared to take cell phone photos or video that may provide a closer look.

Pullman Police urge anyone who can identify the suspects to contact them.
