MOSES LAKE-- The Grant County Sherriff’s office made a pot bust worth tens of thousands of dollars thanks to a neighbor’s tip.

The county’s narcotics team was alerted to marijuana grown in the 10700 block of Grace Lane Northeast. Officials received a search warrant and went to the home.

They were able to seize more that 700 grams of marijuana and 30 marijuana plants, some standing higher than 7 feet tall. The value of the drugs totaled about $85,000.

Stephen Sandberg, 53, was arrested at the scene. He faces possible charges of manufacture of marijuana in a school zone and possession of over 40 grams of marijuana.

“Considering the ventilation, power and lighting systems found at the site, this hydroponic grow operation is one of the most advanced and technical grows seized in Grant County in recent years,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “I cannot emphasize enough that this raid was made possible because a citizen called INET and gave them a tip, and we appreciate that help.”
