Police claim Liberty Lake woman lied about cigarette attack

LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. (AP) -- Liberty Lake police say a woman who told them she was assaulted in January made up the story to get pity from her co-workers because she was at risk of losing her job.
 
Police said on Wednesday the woman now faces a charge of filing a false report.

Back in January, the woman claimed a man first asked if she had any cigarettes. Then, he pushed and kicked her.

Police said she made up the story to get pity from her co-workers because she was at risk of losing her job.
