SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police are investigating after they say a man was shot in the chest and earlier in the day a person was found dead in front of the same house.

Officials says a group of men fired shots through the rear door of a home on the 1600 block of E. Pacific Friday night and Jeremy Lambert, 35, was shot in the chest.

When officers arrived at the home Lambert's roommates told them 3 or 4 white males gathered at the back of  the house and a person fired 4-5 shots through the door. One of the shots hit Lambert who was standing inside.

Lambert was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Major Crimes Detectives are investigating to see if this shooting is related to an incident that happened earlier in the day. Earlier Friday, officers responded to dead person found in front of the same house.

Authorities say this location is a known problem and a focus in their efforts to reduce crime.
