SPOKANE-- Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives have developed a suspect in the Evon Moore homicide.
No arrests have been made at this time, but detectives have executed search warrants on the suspect's apartment and vehicle.
Moore, 48, was found dead on August 13, 2011 near Ralph and Riverside.
A break in the case came last Friday when a WSP Trooper made a traffic stop near Francis and Division on a vehicle driving without tail lights.
The driver, Derrick Vargas, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Subsequent investigation led to a charge of 1st Degree Rape.
Vargas remains in the Spokane County Jail on the previous charges.
Investigators have been combing through thousands of tips over the past month, following leads to locate a homicide suspect.
