SPOKANE, Wash. -- Spokane Police and the US Marshall's Office report officers have tracked down a man wanted for a fatal shooting at the Days Inn hotel downtown Spokane last month.
Spokane police say the investigation led them to a small motel two hours north of Spokane in Metaline Falls, WA, where they found Kevin M. Heaton, 35, on Friday.
Police say Heaton is wanted for questioning in a fatal shooting at the Days Inn on W. 3rd Ave. in Spokane on September 13th and arrested him on a felony drug warrant.
Police suspect Heaton killed Paul Haney, 33, in what police called a drug-related murder. Police spent several weeks searching for him.
Police arrested two other suspects related to this crime last week. They are not charged in Haney’s murder.
