SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. -- Police arrested an ex-marine over the weekend for killing the pregnant wife of another marine.
Officials found Erin Corwin at the bottom of a 140 foot mine shaft in the Southern California desert.
Authorities also said the suspect's wife is likely connected to the gruesome death.
An autopsy ruled the case as a homicide.
The victim vanished in June after telling her husband she was going to Joshua Tree National Park.
Crews searched 300 square miles of desert and several bodies of water before locating her seven weeks later.
