SPOKANE-- On the first day private stores can legally sell liquor, a minor allegedly tried to steal a bottle from a Spokane grocery store.

Witnesses said a minor tried to steal an $85 bottle of Cognac from Rosauers at 29th and Southeast.

Three employees reportedly chased him from the store and tackled him in the parking lot, breaking the bottle of liquor.

A getaway car drove off without the suspect.

Employees brought the minor back into the store to wait for police.  Officers arrested the boy and said he faces robbery charges.
