MATTAWA, Wash. -- A man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a Grant County homicide.
Detectives arrested Jose Abilion Aguilar Aguilar, 34, around 8 p.m. Monday in Mattawa.
He is charged with first-degree murder, felony harassment, intimidating a witness and being an alien in possession of a firearm.
The charges all stem from a homicide earlier this month. Carmelita Lopez Santos of Yakima was found dead by a hunter Oct. 16. The hunter discovered her body near Road 26 Southwest.
Detectives say Aguilar and Santos had been in a romantic relationship. They believe Aguilar became upset when Santos ended the relationship.
