SPOKANE, Wash.-- Jason Flett denied killing his ex-girlfriend Thursday during an interview with KREM 2 News at the Spokane County Jail.
Flett, 27, was arrested Wednesday in connection to a missing person's case made exactly one year ago. Ramona Childress, 27, vanished and was reported missing on November 14, 2012. She was last seen in October of that year.
Detectives believe her body was dumped in Elk, Washington. On Thursday, authorities said they found remains while searching near Elk.
Authorities said an informant came forward saying he helped Flett bury Childress' body. The informant told officials Flett told him that he stabbed her multiple times. Authorities believe Flett was afraid that Childress was going to tell the police about how he was involved in some home invasion robberies.

Flett admitted to dating Childress briefly. He told KREM 2 News that she had lots of boyfriends. She had a great personality according to Flett.
"Might have talked to her a few times. I was married. I was living my life. She was living her," said Flett.
When asked if he killed Childress he said, "Heck no."
The Medical Examiner will make the determination if the remains are in fact Childress'.
Officers said Flett was booked into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of 2nd Degree Murder. On Thursday, Flett was in court on a Second Degree Assault With A Deadly Weapon Charge. Authorities said he assaulted his girlfriend with a crow-bar after an argument about their child.
On Wednesday, he pled guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance. A judge set his bond at $25,000.
