COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho.--A homeless man faces a serious charge after police said they caught him acting inappropriately in Downtown Coeur d'Alene.
John Jacob Lambert, 36, was found sitting on a Downtown Coeur d'Alene bench with his pants down on Friday.
Police said they caught Lambert in the act on one of the benches near the intersection of sixth and Sherman. It happened around 1:40 a.m. Friday when temperatures were well below freezing.
Police said the man is homeless and from Arizona.
Lambert was allegedly sitting on the bench with his pants around his ankles and touching himself. Police said the man refused to stop when police asked him to.
Police said he eventually pulled up his pants but continued to act inappropriately.
Lambert was arrested and booked on an indecent exposure charge.
Police said he refused to stop doing what he had just been arrested for even when he got to jail.
Lambert pulled his pants down and continued to touch himself once he was placed in a holding cell according to court documents.
He is being held on a $300 bond.
Prosecutors said Lambert has been accused of indecent exposure at least two other times in the past two years. Lambert could spend more than two weeks in jail followed by two years of supervised probation under a plea deal.
