LEWISTON, Idaho -- A repeat criminal stole thousands of dollars worth of property from a Lewiston reality company, according to the police department.

A woman called police around 6 a.m. Sunday when she heard a man in her yard in the 3100 block of 8th Street C.

Officers allegedly found Kenneth J. Nelson, 35, hiding in the homeowner’s shed.

Investigators canvassed the area and noticed a burglary occurred at Windermere Realty, just north of the where police found Nelson. Property from the agency had been removed from the building and placed outside. Nelson refused to talk to police, but they say they arrested him for burglary based on enough probable cause.

This was not police department’s first run-in with Nelson, who was out on a $50,000 bond at the time of the burglary.

Police booked the suspect into Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center. He is now being held on a $250,000 bond.

Anyone with more information on this case should call 208-746-0171.
