WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Walla Walla police took a man into custody for what they’re calling brutal stabbing.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Border Tavern parking lot in the 600 block of West Elm Street.

Ryan Lewis, Farr, 30, is suspected of attacking a woman, 47. Police say he punched her several times in the head and then stabbing her repeatedly in her head and upper body.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she is recovering.

Officers found Farr Saturday hiding in a garage in the 600 block of West Moore Street. They took him into custody without incident.

Farr has an extensive criminal history in Walla Walla Valley.
