SPOKANE-- According to Spokane County Deputies, a volunteer chaplain was immediately put on leave after an allegation of indecent exposure.

Officer Jennifer DeRuwe confirmed that the Robert Christian was at an elderly woman's home back in February.. The alleged victim is in her 70's and Christian is her former pastor.

In February the two had coffee at her home. As Christian returned from a trip to the bathroom the alleged exposure occurred.

Officials say the woman claimed he was wearing a skirt, but Christian claimed he was wearing a kilt at the time.

Investigators say two other people showed-up at the woman's home while the pastor visited.

The woman changed churches, and eventually told her new pastor,  who reported the incident.

Deputies say Robert Christian was being investigated by the Spokane Police Department. They forwarded the case to the prosecutor’s office two weeks ago for review. The Sheriff's office has since terminated Christian as a volunteer.

An arrest warrant was issued for indecent exposure. Christian turned himself in on Friday and was released because of jail overcrowding.

A court date for his first appearance has not been set.

According to his biography on Heritage Congregational Church’s website, Pastor Bob ordained in June of 1989. Prior to seminary Bob served as a police officer in suburbs of Toledo, OH for 13 years.
