LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) -- A Lewiston woman has been charged in the death of a toddler she was babysitting.
A grand jury indicted Natasha Hodges this week on a first-degree murder charge for the Aug. 30 death of 2-year-old Rylee Mingo.
The Lewiston Tribune reports Hodges was booked in the Nez Perce County Jail Thursday and released on a $50,000 bond.
Lewiston police said last year the young girl and an older sibling had been left in the care of a baby sitter when their mother went to work. The younger child began to have breathing difficulty and the sitter called an ambulance.
Police said the preliminary autopsy showed the child died of internal bleeding but not what caused it.
Nez Perce County Prosecutor Dan Spickler declined to release further information.
